How to watch

The classic viewpoint for soaring-bird passage, above the N-340 east of Tarifa. With light easterlies or calm the birds cross in front; with strong easterlies they build up and wait. Public car park and viewing platform.

• The colonies on Isla Verde and Isla de las Palomas are watched from a distance. Binoculars and telescope, no approach.
• No drones over islands, breakwaters or docks: they flush the birds and are forbidden in the port domain without authorisation.
