- What is not published
- Datasets under non-commercial licences (CC BY-NC) are excluded from automatic reuse even when present in GBIF. Sensitive species are shown with generalised positions. Figures measure recording effort as well as presence, and are labelled accordingly.
- How to cite
- Every figure links to its original record. To cite a photograph, use the author and licence shown next to it. To cite the portal: Bioestrecho, digital atlas of the biodiversity of the Strait of Gibraltar, with the year of access and the page address.
- Reuse
- Bioestrecho's texts and derived cartography are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0): they may be reused with credit to Bioestrecho. The portal's code and loading processes are documented in the repository. Records keep the licence of their source.
- Updates
- The in-house database is refreshed weekly from GBIF and OBIS; the editorial catalogue and species pages when reviewed. The footer of every page shows the date of the last update.
