Presence in the Strait

Abundant winter visitor to scrub and forests.

Identification

Slightly smaller than a Blackbird and with a shorter tail. Plain brown upperparts, yellowish-buff breast and flanks with arrow-head spots. In flight, prominent rusty-buff underwings. Form large communal roosts.

Movements

Peaks in 2nd hf. March and 2nd hf. October.
