Presence in the Strait
Abundant resident on grasslands and farmlands.
Identification
Small, with dark-brown, heavily streaked back and crown, warm buff rump, pale underparts and warm buff breast and flanks. In flight, rounded tail, underside with black and white tips, and a characteristic repetitive «tsip…tsip… tsip…» given with an undulating flight.
Movements
Prenuptial peaks in 1st hf. March; two postnuptial periods, with peaks in 2nd hf. August and 2nd hf. October.
